Everyone knows the old saying, "no job is finished until the paperwork is done". Nothing could be truer when it comes to moving freight and goods across the country or around the world.

Logistics comes with a mountain of paperwork that takes skilled individuals, with sharp focus, clear understanding and a knowledge of what is required to make it all come together. I know that when it comes to moving freight, people often wonder, "why is it taking so long". Moving freight is more than just putting something on a truck, train, airplane, barge or ship and hoping it makes it to its next destination.

Properly shipping even, the smallest item from point A to point B, requires a great deal of paperwork. There are shipping documents, freight bills, packing list, driver logs, fuel records, invoices, contract agreements, repair bills, maintenance fees, toll roads, permits, multiple driver records, bill of ladings, product inspection records, accounting reports, financial records, claim reports, trip sheets and a whole host of other forms and records, that must all be put together, lined up chronologically and copied sometimes in triplicate to show the movement of even just one small box of product.

This can be a logistics nightmare costing companies countless thousands of dollars in lost revenue, fines, and additional charges if not done correctly.

The more trucks you have in operation the bigger this mountain of paperwork gets. Having the right people to sort through it all, bring it together and keep accurate records of each movement in a timely organized fashion, takes skill, training, knowledge and determination.

Shippping or Receiving Internationally
If you are considering shipping or receiving freight internationally, then on top of the mountain of paperwork you already have accumulated, on your desk from above. You must now have organized customs paperwork, understand the special requirements needed for each individual country you are wishing to ship to and meet all government requirements and regulations of our government as well as the foreign government to be able to send or receive freight from that country.

Accuracy is an absolute must in international shipping. I have had an entire shipment held up, simply because I was missing a period on the middle initial of my signature. Having an extremely high attention to detail is required for smooth uninterrupted international shipping.
